Wellington Camp 2018 Term4

• Today I worked on sisomo and creating a DLO about our school camp in Wellington. I learned that the explore button on slide makes it look pretty. I really enjoyed making the whole video. I found nothing hard. I found it easy to do everything. Next time I would add more slides. This blog post shows I am a Stepping Up blogger.

Wellington Camp 2018 Term 4

Wellington Camp
Sunday:On Sunday morning I got up early and finished packing my gears. I left the house and traveled to school. We had to load our bags onto the bus and get everything ready. When I got onto the bus I sat on the seat and looked at Mum and I saw that she was about to burst into tears so I didn’t want to look out the window.

On the way to Wellington we stopped in Napier and had lunch and went to the the toilet. After about 10 minutes we got on the bus and took off again we were aiming to get to get to Dannevirke. On the way to Dannevirke we were watching movie’s. The movie I liked the most was Despicable Me 3 because found it enjoyable and funny.

Then we stopped in Dannevirke for 5 minutes for a toilet brake and a quick snack. Then we were away to Wellington. When we got to wellington we when to a place called Silver Stream Retreat. When we got out of the bus we obviously had to unpack our gear out of the bus. We went to get our gear and take them inside. When we got inside I thought it was flash as.

Monday:On Monday we went for a early morning jog and for it was yeah alright  but a couple of people didn’t like it. After the morning jog I hoped in the shower and I have to admit it was the best shower I ever had. After a shower we went to have breakfast. For breaky there was so much to choose but I had a bit of a boring breakfast.

I had coco pops and Toast and then ran out to brush my teeth and jump in the bus then we took off. We took off to Parliament and on the way we were looking around the city and all the huge buildings. Then we arrived at Parliament. Parliament was really awesome it was flash when we got inside it had a metal detector and heaps of security.

Our tour guide was quiet cool. His name was William. He showed us the debating chamber. The debating chamber was awesome and cool and it was really awesome.

Wellington Writing 2018 term 4

 This writing was really fun to do, it was exciting and imaginative this writing is about Zealandia and how everything came to life.

My Adventure In Zealandia

 I was in Zealandia with my class. We were exploring when all of a sudden I got picked up by a huge giant kakapo with about 4 meters wing length, 2 meters beak length and a meter of green feathers. 

The kakapo was taking me to somewhere strange I didn’t know what the place was but anyway we were heading straight for a window when a massive kereru flew below me and I got tipped on to it, the colour of the kereru was amazing, I mean the texture and the feel of it’s green feathers was like me getting lost in the bush.

 Anyway while I was on the kereru the big kakapo had made the window smash so the kereru started circling, and then drove down. I thought we were going to go through the window when… I got dropped, I was falling so fast I thought I was going to go to sleep and never wake up, then something caught me, I was still screaming on something rough, I was actually screaming for about another 10 minutes before I realized that I wasn’t going to sleep and never waking up. I was wondering what caught me? What picked me up? And then... I looked up and It was a spikey back, that was also green. I finally found out that it was a strong mighty Tuatara.

I was wondering what part of the Tuatara was I hanging onto then I looked down and I saw the most disgusting site and that site was coming straight for me. I felt something warm, I thought to myself  what could it be and then I here a loud squirt noise.

I try to smell fresh air but I can’t, all I smell is sickness and I realize it is all over for me and what people call when they are angry poop but in the bad way. At the end the Tuatara shrunk back to its normal size and so did everything else the glass was not smashed and everything was back to normal I was wondering what happened but it was all just my imagination.

This was really fun and exciting to do because we had to use our descriptive skills and at the end thoose skills payed off. What I like about this writing is that we get to use our imagination and we get to choose any topic. My topic was Zealandia.

This activity was very hard and challenging because we had to make our pattern  exactly the same on each side and ruling the exact same shape. We were told to hand draw them, most people found it hard to complete their shape hand drawn so they traced around shape’s or used ruler’s to draw. It was awesome and fun and I hope I get to do it again sometime. I choose my pattern because it was easy and I knew that I would finish it fast. By Hohepa

Today I worked on the Google Doc Ninja Challenge.

Today I earned the white and green belt.

I am aiming to get the red, black and Google  Ninja belt.

I found it hard to get the red  Ninja finished.

I found it easy to finish the white  Ninja.

Writing 2018 Term 3 Zealandia

This was really fun to do we had to use our imagination and skills to make this so enjoy!

Poster 2018 Term 3 Zealandia

• We were learning about our location that we were writing about and my location is down below
• I found it easy to find information and create the actual poster itself.
• I found it hard to find good pictures about the place and what it is suitable for the location.
• I really enjoyed that I had a lot of things to do and it kept me occupied.

Reflection on Netiquette

We were learning about Netiquette and what it is about and how to use it. I found it easy to think of all the do's and don'ts I found it hard to make speech bubbles and make the character eye catching. I really enjoyed doing the whole thing, it was all fun. Collaborating Online

We were learning how to create videos on Spark Adobe and Sisomo.

I really enjoyed making our slides and drawing a character.

I found it hard to upload my slides and put my character on to the slide.

It was easy to make the slides and it was easy to write sentences.

Next time I need to speed a bit and maybe use it more.

Sisomo is about getting sight, sound and motion into a digital learning object (DLO).

Writing Inquiry Term 2

Reflections
 My learning was choose two artists and research about them in a day. I choose Jason Derulo and Mr G. Then I had to write all my information down on paper and I had to make sure that I didn’t copy the persons work that I got the information from. Next I had to write all my information down on paper and make it look funky with google drawings or a poster.

Inquiry Term 2 Reading

My learning in reading is creating a poster and summarising all the key points. So what I had to do first was read the book or the article. Then I had got all the information that I had got from the book and put it on paper.Then I had to put all the information  into my own words. Next I had to open a docs page and put all the information down. Then I made the font all pretty. I copied and pasted  all my information onto a google drawing and then I put colour and pictures to make it look pretty.

Adrenalin Inquiry Term 2

My learning in writing was adrenalin and adrenalin I had to watch a video and after watching the video I had to watch it again. Next I did a brainstorm with the year fives & sixers. The brainstorm was what we see, hear, taste and touch but we could only do see and hear. Then we moved onto writing it. So we were aloud borrowing other people's ideas. We had to do descriptive writing because that's what adrenalin is descriptive writing.

Profile

My name is Hohepa and I live in a family of five, I am maori and I go to Matawai School. My parents names are Angie and Joseph. My name in english means Joseph. My sisters name is Ropiha and my brothers name is Thompson [Tj for short] and I’ve also got a cousin that lives with us, I prefer him because he has been living with us most of the time and he also takes me out hunting.

I am good at eeling and I enjoy hunting, both of those things are my pride and joy. I also enjoy playing a bit of rugby and singing. I am not good at dancing but I think it is fun. I think I am good at maths, I’m not sure but the teacher does say I’m good at writing. I do need a few more things in writing but ok.

I am looking forward to school camp and to enviro school I am also looking forward to finishing my inquiry work because it is so close to be finished and it has taken so long and also because our deadline is in two more days.
